Admissions

The Pine Brook School is a school where all forms of learning are deeply valued, from the mastery of algebraic equations to the self knowledge that comes from belonging to a caring and supportive community.  It is a school where we learn from each other, and where we learn something new every day.  And it is a school where feeling and creativity go hand in hand with thinking and organization.

We are rich in the experience and dedication of our teachers and fortunate in the support and interest of our parents. Mutual respect, affection and trust are the essential ingredients of our teaching and relationships.

Visiting the school

We invite you to visit us so that you can see the school in action.  School tours are offered on most Friday mornings during the school year from 9:00 to approximately 10:30 am.  Your visit will give you the opportunity to observe classes in action and talk to an administrator.

We recommend that you make this initial visit without your child, so that you can get the most out of your tour. If this does not fit into your schedule, please feel free to call and arrange a mutually convenient time to visit.

Applying for your child

You can download an application form (as a PDF here). Fill it out and send it, together with the $40 application fee, to Admissions, Pine Brook School, 56 Stony Creek Road, Branford, CT 06405. We will arrange a mutually convenient time for your child to visit the classroom and be interviewed by the teacher. 

 Children applying for preschool should expect to spend an hour in the morning; kindergarten through fifth grade should expect to spend one full school day (8:15 am to 3:00 pm); fourth through eighth grade students should plan to spend one-and-a-half school days.

Parents need to arrange for their child's current school to send us their records (download the forms here).  When this process is complete, we will notify you as soon as possible about enrollment.
